Christmas!

Well I can't believe it but Christmas is over! I swear it comes and goes faster and faster every year. We went to Odessa to spend Christmas with my family--we missed the Sills side though. But we did get to see Aunt Leslie because she and Dustin came to Boone's birthday party (but you'll have to wait for the next post for that!) We went home on Tuesday and came back yesterday so we had a great long visit with lots of family and really good food! :) It was so much fun to see Laney and Jake and Boone play together and to see how they interact with each other. They really get along good. The boys really don't notice each other too much. They just play along side of each other and hang out.....but Laney is a HOOT! She brings toys to the boys or takes them away and she bosses them around. It is hilarious and so cute! She is a lot of fun. Megan and Cory were there (of course seeing as how I have already mentioned that Laney and Jake were there) and my brother Houston and his wife Erin came in from Minneapolis and we had a blast with them too. We don't get to see any of them nearly enough!! Erin was so great with the kids (you two need to have one of your own soon!) it was such a big help! Boone got a ton of presents-- you all spoil him, in the best way! :) We had a great time hanging out with everyone and seeing his awesome grandparents, Grand Daddy and GiGi and Grammy and Pa Paw-- Boone loves you guys so much and we do too! :) It was a great Christmas but I don't have time to write about it all --I love all of you and I feel so grateful for the time we spent together. I had a really great Christmas and it's because I got to spend it with my wonderful family! I hope you all had a wonderful one too! Ok that's all for now I really need to go to bed, tomorrow is someones big birthday!

Check out the hole in his jeans.....it's starting already!!

Better Late than Never!! :)

OK I'm late I know but WOW this has been an insane few weeks. I'm sure any of you that are teachers can understand exactly what I mean when I say Christmas is just a crazy time of year! There are the art projects, the presents for mom and dad, the planning of the party, the special programs at random times and of course on top of all of that you have crazy kids who are SUPER excited about Santa making it that much more difficult to get anything accomplished! And that's just school. Then I have all of our family to shop for, Boone's 2 parties to plan (because yes he needs 2!) and wrapping, wrapping, wrapping!!! AHHHHHHH!!!

So yes I am very late but here are some pics of Boone and his friends Anna and Reid when we tried to take them to see Santa. We were told it was going to be a 3 hour wait so we just tried our own photo shoot! And also some pictures of Boone just being Boone. Stay tuned because there is LOTS more to come! :)

Allison has their attention with a present in her hands but....

she drops it!

Boone farted! No just kidding but that's what it looks like!

Weekend with Grammy and PaPaw

We had another really great week and a fun weekend. Grammy and PaPaw came to stay with us this weekend and boy did Boone have fun showing off and loving on them. It's funny because it's not like he sees her every day or every weekend but he seems to know exactly who she is. He would go straight to her and give her hugs or go play with her---sometimes even passing up Mommy and Daddy for Grammy! It was pretty cute. It makes me wonder if he knows that's my mom or maybe he sees the resemblance in us so it's easy for him to go to her. Either way it was really sweet to watch. We went out to eat on Wednesday and Friday and Boone did really great at both places. Of course he had a lot of people entertaining him and lucky for us the restaurants we chose were LOUD, which is always good when you have a little one talking/yelling and banging spoons on the table. Saturday Mom and I took Boone with us to do our annual day of Christmas shopping and WOW the crowds were unbelievable!!! I do not do well with hundreds of people pushing and fighting over things but it makes it even harder when you are trying to keep your child safe from the mobs! Boone did really good though. We were out for about 4 hours and he didn't really fuss at all. Towards the end you could tell he was getting tired so we loaded up and went to Chick Fil A to get some food for all of us. Boone LOVED it---we might have started something bad but we didn't care. We were all hungry and worn out! That night we stayed at the house and cooked steaks and watched the Big 12 Championship. What a horrible game!!! No offense to the Longhorns or Cornhuskers but come on.....the other games were so good and ours was just the worst!!! Sunday we had to say Bye to Grammy and PaPaw but we are going to Odessa for Christmas so it won't be long before we see them and Grand Daddy and GiGi too!! We are really looking forward to Boone's 1st Christmas. Now if I could only wiggle my nose and have all of the presents wrapped!!! :) Hope you all had a great weekend and a nice week ahead of you!

All bundled up in my cool new winter hat! :)

Hmmmm....what can I play with in here?

Yummmmmmy--that's a good spoon!

Grammy put her vest on Boone but he didn't know what to do---Brian said he looked like his Aunt Leslie here! :)

Boone bundled up in his big camo coat his Great Aunt B gave him...... I'm so glad it was finally cold enough for us to use it!

I'm so mad I chopped off his head in this picture--- I need to go to photography school

My little cowboy--- I absolutely LOVE this look on him. It just suits him so well. Thanks for the cute boots GiGi and Grand Daddy!

Grammy, Boone and PaPaw--- check out those feet!

Boone was telling Grammy that she was NOT leaving and that he was going to stow away in her bag if she tried!

I finally got the decorations up!

I got all new ornaments this year (they were half off!! I love a good sale) and I have to say this is my favorite tree ever. It just fits our house so well---they are all wood ornaments (safe for Boone) and they have a mountain, outdoorsy, rustic feel. I LOVE IT!! It's hard to tell in this picture but I promise it's really cute.

Thanksgiving at the Ranch

Happy Thanksgiving to you all--yes I know it's over but I thought I would say it anyway! We spent our Thanksgiving at the ranch with Brian's family--it was a blast! Brian and Boone went down on Saturday with Pops and Grandma Lou and Uncle Chad and Mois and Pa (Boone's great grandparents) and then they met up with Adele and Bobby and Josh. Then Art and Ben came in later that night. I had to stay here because I didn't get out of school until Tuesday. It was so strange being here by myself for 3 nights. The days weren't bad because I could keep myself busy with errands and work but the nights were so lonely without my two boys. I was so happy Tuesday when I finally got to see them again. They kept Boone up for me so I could see him--it was really sweet and funny because he just had this look on his face like hey I know you but it's been a while! So cute!! Boone's other cousins Amanda and Trey came in later that night with Vicki and Jerry and then Leslie and Dustin came in Wednesday afternoon. So we had a FULL house but we had so much fun. We ate a TON (and it was amazing food), talked a bunch, sang some songs--thanks Dustin and Art, saw a ton of animals, and had a really wonderful time. Boone LOVED all of the attention he got and has still not adjusted to being home with just Mom and Dad--he's missing the whole crew! He did so good when we were there. He's good about going to everybody and being a really easy baby. He had a great time watching the dogs and exploring the grass outside. He even played washers and I have to say got pretty good at it. Better than I was! We left Saturday morning and brought Mois and Pa back to the airport but I have to say I was completely wiped out and I think Boone was glad to be back in his house. I wish I had videoed him when he saw his room for the first time. It was hilarious!!! We really hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving too! There is nothing more important to us than our family and friends so we hope you all know how much we love you and howthankful we are to have each of you in our lives. And Happy 1st Thanksgiving and 11 month birthday Boone!! It's all going too fast!! :) Have a great week!!

Still Walking!

So here's Boone walking across the kitchen floor. He just walks everywhere now...no matter how far or where it is......he's walking!! :) So cute and so scary at the same time!
