Our Big Night Out

So Saturday night was the first night we have left Boone with somebody else. Cindy and Jeff came in to take care of him while we went to Ft.Worth for Ashley Menzie's (now Barnett) wedding. We had so much fun. Stephanie and Chad and Leslie and Dustin also came so the whole Sills crew was there to celebrate. We might have had a little too much fun but it was so nice to have some time alone together...as you can imagine that doesn't happen often! :) Boone did great while we were gone. Cindy would call and give me updates and I think I called a few times just to check on him. He slept and ate and played so it was good to see he didn't miss us too much! :) It was really nice to get away for a night but it made coming home to Boone on Sunday that much better. There is just nothing better than being at home with him. Congratulations Ashley and Jacob-- your wedding was awesome and you make a beautiful couple. Enjoy each other always! Cindy, Jeff and Josh-- thank you so much for coming and taking care of Boone. It made it so much easier to leave knowing that he was happy and safe with yall. We are so grateful for everything and love you all so much.

Happy Birthday Laney!!!

Friday was Laney's 2nd birthday! I can't believe she is already 2. I was so sad that I missed her birthday party on Saturday but hopefully I will be able to be at all of the rest of hers! They had a little party Friday night and the big bash with swimming and pizza and cake on Sat. Meg said she cried when they sang Happy Birthday....ha ha! She got a ton of cute stuff and Meg has been working on a really cute playroom for her with the walls all painted (I'll try to get her to send me some pics. of it) and she got that finished for her and Laney is loving it. She is a very lucky little girl. I love you so much Laney and I'm sorry I missed your party but I hope you had an amazing birthday and we will see you soon!

July 4th

Happy 4th! Well 5th actually, but we hope you all had a wonderful July 4th weekend. I couldn't believe it but we went to bed last night without seeing one firework--we did watch some on T.V. but did not see one outside. Crazy huh?! I guess that's a good thing though considering how dry everything is and the wind started blowing pretty hard right after dark. Hopefully there weren't too many fires last night. We had a great week and weekend. Boone had his 6 month checkup and shots on Wednesday. He did great--as always--there were some tears but he got over it pretty quick and was back to laughing. He is still in the 90% for weight and 75% for height. He is now 27" and weighs 20.7 lbs. That is just insane! This weekend we hung out at the house and had a really nice, relaxing weekend. Brian cooked out yesterday for the 4th and oh my gosh I can't even begin to tell you how good the ribs he made were. They were unbelievable--- best ribs I have ever had without a doubt----seriously good! He also cooked a brisket and turkey so we will be able to eat on that the rest of the week. That will be so nice! This was by far the best 4th of July I have ever had. We didn't do much and didn't get to see any fireworks but it was a beautiful day with really good food, cold drinks :) and my sweet little family-- I can't wait until next year when Boone will be able to really notice the fireworks, that will be really cute. Maybe we will actually see some next year! :) Hope you all had a great one too-- love you all

6 Months Old!

Boone is 6 months old today! I can't believe it myself--it seems like we just had him. He has grown and changed so much since then and I thought I would put a picture of Boone then and now. Happy half birthday Boone! Your Daddy and I love you so much!

Another year older!

And wiser I hope! :) So I am now officially 28-- I'm o.k. with that number---now talk to me in 2 years and we will see how I am. I had a great birthday--thanks to everyone for the sweet cards and phone calls and of course the presents! :) You made my birthday really special so thank you. Stephanie took me out to lunch for my birthday and it was so much fun. We just got to visit about all of the stuff we care about-- no offense to the boys but we usually end up talking about hunting and flooring--both of which are great, don't get me wrong--But it was really nice for us to just get to talk about other stuff. Thanks Steph-- I had a great time and we have to do it again soon. Brian and Boone gave me some really sweet cards and a new purse--it's awesome! We were going to go out but I was worn out and nothing sounded better than a movie, some beers and a pizza---so that was my birthday and it was perfect--just getting to spend the evening with my two favorite boys. Friday we went to the lake, it was really hot there but really pretty too. They were having boat races on the lake this weekend--we didn't see any of them but there were a lot of people around. Oh and the worst thing ever happened Friday night (well not the worst thing ever but pretty close!) So I was walking in to the house and I was carrying Boone--well my foot got wrapped up in these long blind cords that are on the door and I tripped and yes I fell and Boone fell! It was the worst feeling in the world. Now granted it could have been a whole lot worse considering Boone didn't hit anything but I think he got a case of whiplash and it definitely scared the you know what out of him. He freaked and started screaming but was fine after a few minutes. I felt like the worst mom ever but he survived and to be honest it's probably going to happen again-- I'm not the most graceful person ever! Saturday night we went to a baby shower for our friend Will and his girlfriend Roxanne. It was the first time we met her and she seems really sweet. Will is just an awesome guy and he is going to be a great dad (he's having a little girl). It was nice to get out and see friends we hadn't seen in a while-- we had a really good time. So another weekend is over and I can't believe July is here already. Where does the time go? Hope you all have a good week and we love you!
