OK so I don't think sorry will cut it but I honestly do feel really bad that I haven't updated our blog in almost a month. But man--- to be honest it's been really nice to not think about. When I decided that I didn't have to do it every week it took the pressure off of it all and I seemed to have just let it fall through the cracks. And for that I really am sorry. I know you all like to check up on Boone because you all love him as much as we do and that's the whole reason I started this so I'll try to get back to posting regularly. But if this happens again (and I promise you it will) please don't worry about us. Life is good for us, too good I think sometimes --- we are just living life with a crazy 14 month old. :) So on to the adventures we've had over the last few weeks-- and boy have we had some!! We got our 1st haircut---well Boone's first haircut! And I swear you would have thought that his hair had nerves and we were brutally torturing him with every snip. Although you can't really tell from the pictures (I don't know why he looks so calm in them) he was not a happy camper at all!! The poor girl cutting his hair was about 5 months pregnant and I think at that moment she was glad to be having a girl because boy oh boy was Boone wild!! And bless her heart, I don't hold it against her at all because there is no way I could have cut it but it was a BAD haircut!! I keep telling everyone at first he looked like Hitler. I know you are all thinking that I shouldn't be saying that about my own son but he really did look like him---and the dot of chocolate on his upper lip from the cookie I bribed him with did not help at all. I wish I had a picture of it--you would all think he looked just like Hitler too. Luckily that phase passed but then we moved in to the Rob Blagojevich stage. If you don't know who he is then you can google him but Boone was rockin that hair style for a while too. Now it has grown out a little and we are starting to get shaggy again in the front but there is NO WAY I am doing that again anytime soon. I love my baby with shaggy hair so that's just how it's going to be!! :) We've had some pretty great weekends lately too. We had a couple at home--the first one involved a visit to the pediatric ER. I can hear everyone now-- oh my gosh!! what? Yes we had to visit the ER that Friday afternoon. Boone's day care called earlier that day and said he was running a low fever. I thought it was because of his teeth but Brian was in Austin so I had to go pick him up since he can't stay there in case he really is sick. Well we lounged around and played then took a nap. Brian got home around 3 and we just laid around some more but when we finally got up and around we decided to take his temperature because he felt pretty warm....well not only did he have a temperature but it was 104.3!! WHAT?! You can imagine how quick the panic set in. Brian calmly reminded me that the thermometer could be wrong and that we should try again in a few minutes. Well that time it was 104.6!! I called our pediatrician and they said they could see him on Monday---are you freaking kidding me!! My baby has a 104.6 and you want me to wait until Monday. I couldn't even find the words to tell them what I thought about them at that moment. So Boone got a dose of Motrin and off we went to the hospital. They ran a strep, flu and RSV test---all negative. Did a chest X-ray and it was clean. We have no idea what it was but they gave us some amoxicillian and sent us home. I have to say the hospital was so nice and everyone that worked there was simply incredible. So nice, so patient and very helpful. We left still wondering what had just happened but satisfied with the answers we did get. It was not a fun night but we were glad everything turned out ok. Oh and by the way according to the doctor at the hospital 104 really isn't that high for him. I still think that is incredibly wrong but I guess she knows more about it than I do. :) Boone also got to experience his first snow day----well sort of. It snowed kind of hard for a little while so we bundled Boone up and took him out to see it. It was really cute because he was trying to grab them in the air---good luck buddy!! It didn't snow long but it was fun while it lasted. Maybe some day there will be enough to stick on the ground so we can really play in it. The next weekend Brian and I took a night off and got Angela our babysitter to come over so we could go out with Chad and Stephanie--and some other friends to see Emory Quinn. They were playing in San Antonio this time so it was a lot closer--thank goodness! They were AWESOME!!! Not like that is surprising but man I love that band. We got to meet Case (the bass player) this time and he is just as cool and nice as Clint is. I told him that Case is what I would love to name my next boy (if we have a boy next) and he said he loved growing up with that name! Ok nobody better steal that one---seriously! This bit me in the butt last time but I'm putting it out there that nobody better take that name!!! That or Hayes--those are my two favorite now. Why am I thinking about baby names you ask? I have no idea but I am always thinking of names and those are just my absolute favorite right now. We got to see Clint that night too. Brian talked to him for a while and then Clint saw Chad walking around and thought he was Brian it was hilarious! Chad was like uhhh I think you think I'm my brother--ha ha. I talked to him after the show and he was so nice--he gave me a huge hug and gave me the set list for their show. Why would I want that? Because they are going to be Uber Famous some day and I'll be rich!!! Ha Ha--Pipe Dreams my friend, pipe dreams!! :) I posted a video Brian took of them singing part of my favorite song. I tried to get it on my playlist but they don't have any songs of Emory Quinn to add yet. Hopefully one day soon they will and I'll put it on here but I hope you can hear it ok. While I'm on that subject I'm sure you've noticed that I changed the song. This is a new one by Train--who I loved back in college but I hadn't heard about them in a while then all of the sudden here they are again with this awesome song. No it's not about Boone or our family but it is a great song and super catchy. Hope yall like it too!! Last weekend we went to San Angelo and got to see Grammy and Pa Paw. We went in town to go to our friends Will and Roxanne's wedding shower. It was a lot of fun but we are really looking forward to the wedding in April. They are such a fun couple and we just have a really good time with them both. And besides we are going to be in laws some day when Boone and Kennedy get married!! :) It was great to see Grammy and Pa Paw--Boone had a blast and of course he was spoiled rotten by the time we got him home Sunday but we love it when they spoil him-- it was a lot of fun!! I wish the weather had been warmer so we could have been outside more but maybe when we go back in April it will be warmer for us. Next week is my Spring Break so I am super excited. We are going down to the ranch today with Chad and Stephanie and our friend Jeff is meeting us down there too so it should be lots of fun. We are going to celebrate Chad's birthday a little early (it's on the 18th) and just have a relaxing time. It's always good to see those two and when you throw in Jeff---well that's just a good time waiting to happen! We don't have much planned for the break- we're going to have a play date with our friends Reid and Anna so I'm really excited about that and then we are going to have dinner with some good friends we haven't seen in a long time so that will be fun too. People keep asking about our big plans and I've never been more excited to tell them that we don't have any. Spring cleaning will be in full effect and lounging will be our motto---wow I'm really excited about that. We love you all and thank you so much for caring about us so much and for being loyal followers of our blog. Boone is changing so fast (it's about to make me cry thinking about it) we are just trying to enjoy every last second of it because before we know it he will be grown and gone. We are the luckiest people to get to share our days with him and he continues to make us better parents and better human beings. He is pure joy!! Enjoy the pictures of our "little boy" who is too quickly becoming our "big boy".
Pre hair cut--enjoying a cookie (his new word---he says it and it's so stinking cute)
This is BEFORE we even started cutting his hair---he doesn't even look like himself!!
Things seem ok
This is BEFORE we even started cutting his hair---he doesn't even look like himself!!
Things seem ok
I think I was singing to him at this point
Then Daddy had to take over
We even tried standing with him---that poor girl!!
What happened to my hair?
You can kind of see some chunks missing on the sides
the back looks really cute--like a little boy
trying to grab snowflakes-- I love the scarf---ha ha!!
this picture is so sweet--- you can see the flakes a little bit on the left side--it looks like little pieces of light coming through the trees but it's the snow

Maybe Emory Quinn will be as famous as Joe E. Lee(I hope Amber reads this!) I love that song you put on--In fact I love all of them. What I really love are the faces Boone made while getting his haircut--make sure they go in the baby book! We had fun with all of you at the lake--can't wait until Will and Roxanne get married--I mean only because we get to see Boone and you and Brian again! Love you all! Grammy
You know everyone loves reading your blog, and seeing new pictures of Boone, and of course everyone else too, but it has to be a pain in the butt to feel like you have to do it all of the time. I always check for the new one, but, there's no way I could do what you do all of the time. You should do this blog thing when you are in the mood. And Boone's beautiful no matter what his hair looks like! It's only hair, and it will grow. It doesn't look bad. You just might have some explaining to do for little Anna! HaHa! Love You! GiGi I Love Soul Sister too!
