Catching Up

So I know it's been a while but here are some pics. from the last month (plus some more pics. from when Brian's grandparents and cousin were in town).

These were all from the river walk in San Antonio.

These are from the ranch over Labor Day.

Let me preface these next 4 pictures by saying that I did NOT condone this but was asked to take pictures so I did....under the condition that he stayed far, far away from me!!! (Don't you love the outfit!! Such a redneck!!)

Back to some normal pictures!

The flowers Brian got me the day we found out about the twins... guess he thought it would ease the shock!!;) I think this is my favorite arrangement ever, they are so pretty!!

Getting all ready for the Tech game----which was VERY disappointing but we have a very good looking Red Raider!!

That's all for now, we'll catch up again soon!!

TWINS!!!

Ok so I'll tell the story of what happened to us last Thursday September 30th. Most have heard but I need to write it down just so I'll never forget exactly what happened (not like that's likely!!)

So in August we had been in to see the doctor and had a sonogram. We saw one baby and were told we were 7 wks. 4 days. All looked great and were told we would have another sonogram at 18-20 wks. unless we wanted to do an NT scan. This is where they test for chromosomal abnormalities (usually done between 11 and 13 wks) and even though I don't think something would come up wrong I purely did this scan for selfish reasons---same as I did with Boone---I just didn't want to wait for another 11 wks. before I saw our baby again. So we scheduled it for Sept. 30th. Now let me say Brian didn't go with me when I had this done with Boone but thank God he was there for this one! So we went in at 8:30 and went over the usual info. with Lynn (the sonogram tech.) We talked about how far I was and when my due date was set for, etc. Then she started with a top of the stomach sono. (which is what they used with Boone during this test) and she kept acting weird about what she was seeing. Brian and I both made the comment later that we had seen the baby when she was moving it around but she never got close enough for us to get a good look and was not saying anything about a heartbeat or how the baby looked. She stopped and went back to my chart and started asking me the same questions about when I was due and how far along I was, just like we had done 5 min. before. I looked at Brian nervously and by the look on his face I could tell he thought the same thing I did....something was not right! So she decided to switch and do the other type of ultrasound (a more invasive approach :)!) So right off I asked her is everything ok and she just kept saying oh yeah, I just have to get a better look and then I asked her if the baby had a heartbeat and that's when she said it.........Yes see here, there's baby #1!!! What?!? Brian goes BABY #1? And she said yes, that's what I wanted to show you, you're having twins. And here's baby # 2. Those are words I never thought I would hear.....ever! I started crying and all I could say was oh my gosh, over and over again. She turned a fan on me and told me it was o.k. and this was my freak out moment. (Well let me say I've had a few since then and I'm sure there are more to come). She went on to show us both babies and their little feet and hands and profiles. It was a VERY surreal moment but an exciting one too. Our doctor kept apologizing for not seeing both the first time, but what can you do? I'm just glad they are both healthy and growing despite the fact that we didn't know there were two. I have to say Thursday was an out of body day with shock being the feeling of the day and Friday there was a little more excitement and then Saturday it all hit me. The magnitude of what was happening and the long road ahead of us. My pregnancy with Boone was such an easy one and I worry that this one will not be as smooth, considering all of the stories I have read and the concerns from my doctor about how far I will carry the babies. Then there's once they get here and the struggles we will have with trying to care for two babies without letting Boone feel like he's been lost in this but I am reminding myself daily that God would not give us more than we can handle and he has a plan for all of us. I pray for these babies to grow big and strong and for my body to carry the twins as long as I can. I also pray for Boone to feel as much love after as he does now. I hope you can all join me in these prayers for our family. Love you all!

Here are all of the pictures we have so far.

These are the pics. from August---when we THOUGHT there was one! :)

And here are the new pics. of our sweet babies ----
a blessing times two!

This is Baby A (measuring 12 wks 2 days)-- you can see Baby B a little bit

And Baby B (measuring 12 wks. 5 days)

I don't know if you can tell in this one (the pic. above) but the baby has his/her hand behind his/her head---just chillin!!

And here they are together!! They were pushing on each other and squirming around everywhere. It's so crazy to see two babies at once!!

I added this new song by Brad Paisley. I heard it on the radio and thought of Boone immediatley but then I heard it again after we found out it was twins and it had a whole new meaning....especially the first verse!!
