Busy & Fun Week

Well we had a REALLY busy week but along with a crazy, busy schedule we managed to have A LOT of fun!! Tuesday I took the day off to take Boone in to see our ENT. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the guy (of course it could have something to do with the fact that we waited to see him for 2 hours! And yes it was right in the middle of Boone's nap and lunch time--and to top it off he spent MAYBE 5 minutes with us--but as you can see I'm not bitter at all!) but he is supposed to be one of the best around and so for Boone's sake I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. So after our brief 5 minute meeting we decided that tubes are the best option for Boone so on November 12th (which is Meg's birthday so I'm thinking it will bring us some good luck) we will be going in to get them. I am extremely nervous but I have to keep thinking that this will bring him so much relief and hopefully we wont have any more trouble with his ears or the tubes for that matter. If you could please keep him in your prayers in the days leading up to his surgery and of course the day of we would be so grateful. And maybe some prayers for my sanity if you have some to spare! :) So after the ENT visit Boone and I had the afternoon to hang out and play and it was a gorgeous day so we went to the park to try out Boone's new swing. It is his Christmas present from his Aunt Leslie and Uncle Dustin but he got it early so we could use it while the weather is so nice. Thanks Leslie and Dustin---Boone LOVES it so much!! I have a short video at the bottom but it was so windy and the camera was trying to zoom in and out to follow him and it was starting to make me a little sick so I had to stop. But he kind of slides down in the seat and just chills with a big ol smile on his face. It's really cute! Then Wednesday Brian had to go to Dallas and didn't get back until late Thursday so that always makes for longer days but we had a good time just hanging out. Friday Dana, Allison and I met up at the pumpkin patch to take pictures of the "three-bies"--as Allison named them. It was so much fun watching the three of them and how they react to each other. Boone is so funny because he was just sitting there taking it all in--almost oblivious to everything going on around him. It was a really fun day with all of them. There are a TON of pictures because I couldn't decided on my favorites. So enjoy them all! Saturday we had a really busy day--the morning was calm and slow so that was really nice. At 3 we went to Boerne to Jack's 5th birthday. We are good friends with his parents Dan and Cheryl and they are the cutest kids so we couldn't miss out on his party and besides it was a bowling party so we had to go!! Boone got to bowl his first frame and he did pretty good--except for trying to chase after the ball down the lane. Good thing Brian was there to stop him! Then we went over to one of my kids from last year, Zayne's flag football game. Man those kids are INTENSE!! It was so much fun and also eye opening to what is in our future I'm sure. Zayne did awesome and I'm pretty sure his team won--we really had a great time. After that we headed back to San Antonio because our neighbors Paul and Sarah were having a kids Halloween party. We didn't dress Boone up---it had been a long day already and I'm not so sure he's a huge fan of his costume, but we did go down and see all of the other kids and they were really cute! They had a pinata and everyone insisted that Boone take a turn so we went out and swung at it a few times......Brian thought it was hilarious! We spent the rest of the evening visiting with the other parents then went and played in the grass. Boone isn't quite sure what to make of it yet but it's cute to watch him squirm. Yesterday we had another peaceful morning--Brain and I were able to nap both days---HALLELUJAH!!! Then yesterday afternoon we got loaded up and headed out to take our family pictures. We went out to the photographers house--she has a lot of really neat places for pictures. I'm sure they will turn out cute but Boone was not his normal smiley self so we will see. After that we went out to eat and had a great family dinner just enjoying each other then headed home to put out little man to bed. It was a really nice weekend with just the 3 of us. I find myself just loving my boys more and more and enjoying my sweet little family so much!! Hope you all had a good weekend too ---except for that shitty Tech football game. Sorry for the curse word but that's the nicest thing I can say about it right now! Have a good week and Tech you better get it together because I am not driving all the way to Lubbock this weekend to watch you CHOKE!!!

Weekend Away

Well we had our first official weekend away from our sweet baby this weekend. Our friends Don and Amy got married in Kerrville, which is about an hour from here. So Grandma Lou and Aunt Leslie came in to keep Boone. Friday night we decided to keep it low key and go out to eat and then just go back to the bar at the hotel and oh my gosh it was awesome! The people watching could not be beat. There were tons of old men on the prowl for these younger ladies there. It was hilarious-- we were seriously the youngest people there----by 30 years!!! Maybe I'm exaggerating a little but I can't tell you how much fun we had just being there. Saturday I had to come back in to Boerne for our annual fundraiser at school. It was tons of fun and I got to see about half of my class so that was good. Then Saturday before the wedding we went out to one of the houses they rented and watched the Tech football game.....Wreck Em Tech!!! It was an awesome game. We didn't get to see all of it before we had to leave (and we waited until the last second...almost too late considering the bridesmaids were walking up as we got there....OOPS!) but the minister let us know that we could all breathe--- Tech was winning. As you can see we were among great people! :) The wedding was beautiful and Amy looked amazing--as always! The reception was a ton of fun but we called it an early night and went back to the hotel bar for a couple of drinks and a little dancing....shocking I know for those of you that know Brian. But I guess I maybe just danced around him so I don't know if that really counts but either way we had a great time! It was such a nice weekend and Brian and I really just enjoyed being with each other again. We all get so busy in our day to day that we forget about each other, at least we had I think. It's kind of like falling in love all over again. Boone had a great time with Lou and Leslie. He didn't even care when he saw me..made me feel really good. No I'm kidding, I would much rather him act that way then cry the whole time we were gone. He's such an awesome kid and Brian and I are so grateful for Cindy and Leslie coming and giving us a great weekend off. We loved it so much we decided we are going to take another trip to Vegas for our ten year anniversary in Jan. No not our wedding anniversary but our "fake one" as Brian calls it. But i figure if we have put up with each other for that long we deserve to celebrate it! :) Again THANK YOU, THANK YOU to Cindy and Leslie for taking such good care of our baby and to Boone for being so chill. We love you all so much! Hope you all had a great weekend too and a good week ahead!
