Meeting New Friends

Thursday I took Boone up to my school to meet everyone. Dana and I were having a party for our long term sub Diana--she subbed for Dana when she was out and then moved over to my room to take over for me. I worked out perfect that way and Diana was amazing! So at school Boone got to meet Kolt and see Anna (they are all going to be great friends! With Macee and Reid too). It was adorable! I mean Boone got to see all of his new friends at school but seeing all of the babies was the BEST! Kolt is Christa's little boy--she teaches at my school--and she had Kolt 8 days after I did. He is so long and lean, quite the opposite of Boone. They are around the same weight but I think Boone is built like a football player and Kolt is going to be a basketball player or better yet a baseball player (his dad might like that more). He is adorable and so quiet and sweet. And then there is Miss Anna-- oh my goodness this girl is so cute! She talked to the boys the whole time we were there and had a huge smile for us all. She is 4 months now and is too cute for words! We stayed and talked until like 4 or 4:30 so needless to say Boone was exhausted when we got home. He went to bed around 6 woke up once for 5 minutes to eat and was out for the rest of the night! I think he had a pretty good time though and loved being around the kids--he sat so quiet and just watched them all. I guess he remembers those sounds. It was lots of fun and it was a great look into his future and some friends he already has. We are going to have to get a picture soon of all 5 babies because hopefully they will be around each other for a very long time. Since today is my last day with Boone before I go back we are just hanging out (he's napping now--obviously!). We went for a walk and read some books--So far we love Brown Bear, Brown Bear but do not like Goodnight Moon. Maybe I need to save that for the night time. My mom (Boone's Grammy) is coming in Sunday to stay with Boone this week. I am so thankful because I am not ready for him to go to Daycare yet--I need a few more weeks. So she is going to keep him this week and then the next is my Spring Break so Boone won't go to daycare until the 16th--please keep me in your thoughts this day :) And pray I don't have a complete meltdown--just kidding. It's going to be great and he will love it--I'm sure of it. Hope you all had a good week and have a fabulous weekend!!

Happy Face!

I made him wear his hat from the hospital--so funny

His new favorite thing--knuckles

It's hard to be a baby

Look at those cheeks

Boone's Announcement

1st Family Outing!

OK so We officially had our first day out and about as a family. Now Brian will argue that we have all been to the doctor together, but how much fun was that? Not a lot! And we have gone places with Boone before but there have always been other people with us like Grammy and Lou, so this will go down as the first family outing! So anyway we decided we were going to go visit some nursery's because we want to plant some new things in the front yard. We really didn't have any specific ideas so we thought we would go walk around and look. As you can see Boone slept through most of the visit to Millbergers. We didn't find what we were looking for and there wasn't anyone to help us (they were super busy) so we went on to Home Depot. While Brian looked around outside I took Boone in to look around and of course he had a flip out moment while I was inside the store alone with him! :) So I carried him around the rest of the time--as you can see he fell asleep again and missed the rest of the Home Depot experience. Then we made one more stop at a place by our house and Brian went in while we waited in the car. Brian came out and said the lady wouldn't sell him anything because it was all going to die so she told him to come back in 3 weeks and she would help him. I guess you have to admire her honesty because she could have just sold us stuff and let us plant it and have it die. So we are going to wait a few weeks and figure out exactly what we want then go back. It was so nice to just get out and walk around as a family. Now that Boone is bigger it is easier to get out and do things and we have had some really beautiful days recently which makes it that much nicer. Boone had a busy day and boy was he worn out! Even though he slept through most of it! I added some extra pictures of our weekend--hope you all had a great one too!

As you can see it was a little windy in San Antonio

Valentine's Day

Hope you all had a great Valentines Day and a restful weekend. We had a great weekend just being here at the house. Brian got a ton of yard work done! It looks great! We were sitting outside on the porch Friday night admiring all that he had done, and Brian realized something that had not occurred to him yet. He went to get the mail and there was a Valentines card for Boone from his parents (Pops and Lou) and he said something like Boone got a card but we didn't get anything. I sort of laughed and said I don't think we get anything anymore. Boone is the one who gets the cards and the goodies now! It was actually pretty funny because I don't think it had even crossed his mind until the card came. Boone got cards from all of his grandparents and also got one from his great aunt B and great uncle Bob. He also got some pretty cute outfits and goodies. My mom (Grammy) got him a singing dog and I got Boone on video trying to turn himself so he could see it. He was so mad that he couldn't see it when the video starts but once he turns his head towards the dog he is happy. It's pretty cute! Oh and after looking at the pictures we took this weekend I think it's pretty obvious we have a little red head in our family. We thought there was a pretty good chance, with all of the red Brian has in his beard, but I didn't really see it until recently. Anyway we hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day and if you are off today for Presidents Day have a great day--we love you all!

Busy Week!

Well we had a very busy but fun week. On Wednesday Boone's grandmother came all the way from South Carolina to see him! Cindy came and stayed with us for a few days and it was so nice! She hadn't seen Boone since he was born and I think she was shocked by how much he had grown (I think everybody is) :). Cindy loved hearing all of his sounds, and yes he makes a TON! And she helped Boone try on his hats and take a bath. She was a huge help and Boone loved having his grandmother (she hasn't picked a name yet...although I think Lu or Lu Lu is cute) come and stay with him! Then on Friday we packed Boone up and the two of us headed to Odessa to see my family and Boone's new cousin Jake and his big cousin Laney. Brian and his family went down to the ranch so it was just me in the car with Boone and I have to say I was a little scared about the trip.....o.k. let's not lie I was terrified of traveling with him alone. But I have to say Boone is an excellent traveler! It's about a 5 hour drive and we only had to stop once. Pretty good huh?! I fed him, changed his diaper and we were back on the road. We had a great time in Odessa seeing his cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. He has lots of family in West Texas and I know there will be lots of trips out that way so it's a good thing it's an easy drive. We got to see Grammy and PaPaw, Aunt Meg and Uncle Cory with Jake and Miss Laney, Grandpa BG and GiGi and Aunt Leslie and Uncle Dustin. (It's Leslie's birthday today so HAPPY BIRTHDAY LESTER!!!) We ate lots of good food (well I did, Boone was stuck with the usual) and had so much fun seeing everyone. We drove back home today and the return trip was almost as good as the drive there. We had a great time but it is really nice to be back at home. I am completely worn out :) plus I think Boone really missed his Daddy! Hope you all had a great week too--love you all!

I think it's still a little big!

Hanging out with LuLu (in Ole Miss colors for his Great Grandmother Mois)
