100th Post!!

Well it's been a couple weeks so I'll just try to update you as quickly and precisely as I can. :) We went to San Angelo right after Easter for our friends wedding. And to see Grammy and Pa Paw of course! We had to go to the rehearsal dinner on Friday too so they got to babysit Boone both nights--thanks you guys! Boone had a great time with them like he always does but each time he sees people and the more we talk about all of our family the easier it seems for him when we are around different people. It's pretty cool to just see how much he knows now. I can tell him to put the box in the cabinet and close the door....and he does it! I can tell him to go find my brush when I need it....and he does it! It's so amazing.....I think we might have a gifted child!! :) Anyway back to San Angelo (I can't keep my mind on one thing these days) we had a great time and I even got to lay out with my mom on Saturday since Boone was napping, Brian was golfing and Pa Paw was working on one of many projects he finds himself doing around the lake. The wedding was really beautiful and really sweet. It was a great weekend for us, but it was an even better weekend for one little boy I know. Boone got to have his 2nd Easter with a ton of goodies from his Grammy and Pa Paw and his Gi Gi and Grand Daddy. Boy his Grandparents sure know how to spoil him!! He got some really cute outfits, some great new books, bubbles, cars, tons of yummy sweet things, games and his very own pint sized golf set. He loves it all and says Thank you, Thank you!! It was a very good Easter. The next weekend we stayed here. We were going to have some friends over Saturday night but it stormed and stormed all day Saturday so we postponed the party until Sunday. It actually worked out better that way since the first game in the Spurs-Mavericks series was on. We had some people that were Mavs fans and some that were Spurs but it was a fun game to watch with a good group of people. Boone had a great time playing with all of the kids. He just hung out outside and I'd poke my head out to check on him (of course we were watching him through the windows) and he would just wave and start babbling, as if he was saying hey mom, I 'm just playing with my friends-love you! Of course I imagine that as soon as Boone is talking he will tell me he loves me all the time--even during those adolescent, hormonal, my mom is so embarrassing times. I'm not being too unrealistic am I?!? :) It was adorable and he was totally wiped out so it was pretty easy to put him to bed that night. Last week we had his 15 month checkup. Everything was great--he weighs 27.2 lbs which puts him in the 80% and he's 32 inches which is the 75%. So all in all it's still clear that he is a large boy. He had to get 3 shots which were absolutely horrible but thank goodness Brian was there to hold him so I could stand in the corner and stare at the door (that's all true and I'm not embarrassed to say that) We got a new lotion for Boone's skin. He has had really bad eczema for a while now and he would just itch and itch but a pharmaceutical rep had come in earlier that day with some new lotion. Brian asked our doctor (who we absolutely LOVE by the way--just had to say Dr. Basey is the greatest!) if we could have 14 free samples--since the copay is $40 and she thought that was hilarious. She walked out and Brian looked at me and said so how many do you think she's going to give us? It was pretty hilarious but I'm sure she thinks we are insane!! But she loves us and totally loves Boone and the best news is that the lotion totally worked and his skin looks amazing! It feels like little baby legs and I love it. He is just the cutest thing ever! This last weekend we found some bluebonnets to take Boone's picture in. I just love our bluebonnets around here so I was determined to get him in some but I think with all of the rain we had just had it must have washed a bunch out because we drove about 45 minutes before we found a decent patch of them. We saw a ton when we were coming back from San Angelo and we are going again in a couple of weeks, so maybe we can find some more then. We'll see. Anyway so I made Brian walk through and check the bluebonnets first just in case there were some animals or reptiles hiding in them and then we just put Boone down in the middle. He was NOT happy at first but then he kind of seemed to like it. He wouldn't move so anytime one of us came close to him he would throw his arms up like get me out of here but he never tried to leave. We went out to eat after then came home and rented a movie. We watched Crazy Heart--pretty good! I liked it a lot and I stayed awake for the whole thing--let me just tell you that says A LOT because I don't make it through 90% of them. Sunday we went to church. We haven't been in a long time and it was really nice to go back. We haven't found a church we feel is right yet but this church had a great pastor who had a very relevant message for both Brian and I. I think we might try a new one next time or revisit the one we were going to before. But either way it just feels good to be back at church and we'll just keep looking until we find the one that's right for us. On Thursday Grandma Lou is coming in to keep Boone for us. I'm going down to the coast with a bunch of girls from work and Brian is going to the ranch, so Cindy was sweet enough to say she would come and keep Boone for us while we go vacation (in two different places--ha ha!). I know Boone is going to have a hay day! We have been trying to teach him to say Lou but he doesn't have it down yet. Maybe by the time you get here Cindy!! :) We hope you have all had good things going on too and hope you have a great rest of the week and weekend!!

"Petting" the cat (I think he was trying to push him off the deck)
No, I'm not causing any trouble at all (thanks for the cute t-shirt Aunt Erin and Uncle Houston)

YUMMM...chocolate!!

Grammy and Pa Paw are talking about something but I don't care I've got CHEETOS!!

Riding the horse

2nd Easter egg hunt

Hey Grammy--where are they at?

He would go around and open them--if they had goldfish or sweet tarts he would dump them out and move on but if they were the m&m's he would grab them all and run off while he stuffed them in his mouth--it was hilarious!

So what's in this one?

Look at me!

Watching the rain (check out my big belly!)

OK so this is what Brian dressed him in for school one day. Good thing I didn't leave before them!! He told me he thought he'd seen me put him in this before......ummmmm, NO, never!!! :)

Eating a banana
Ok so I have a whole dialogue for the next pictures so just bear with me...

Hey Sam do you want to play? No ok well you look like you're having fun. Mind if I join?

Ok I'm coming in

Oh almost there

Alright!! This is so cool!!
Ok now here's the thing Sam, I'm going to lay with you but this is MY blanket and NO I will not share it
But I'll pet your head

and poke your nose

and give you kisses!!
I love my kitty cat! (Now if only the feeling was mutual!)

I don't know if you can tell but he's standing up on the rail watching the dogs. This kid would be out there playing with them all the time if we'd let him

Going to take bluebonnet pictures--he did not want me to take his picture

He wanted out immediately

but then started to explore

He thought Daddy was coming to get him but we just wanted to change his shirt

He face planted here--it was hilarious!

No Boone don't pick that bluebonnet

Ok fine then I don't want to do this anymore!! I'm out!!

Snacking after a hard photo shoot
I gave him a new fruit puch thing that Dana told me about--she calls it baby crack and man he LOVED it!!

Playing in the water!
Throwing it on me!!

OOOOOOO this is fun!!!

Boone was feeding himself some apple sauce-- I just love listening to him "talk"

We were standing on the porch listening to the thunder the other day and Boone was not scared at all...he never even budged! He's a brave little guy!

Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter to you all! I hope you had a nice long weekend. We had a great Easter but it was a little different than we had planned. Boone was sick on Tuesday (this is where it all begins)They called me from daycare and said that he had a low fever and had broken out in a rash all over his body. Actually at first she told me that they were having trouble waking him up...WHAT?!? I quickly went to my computer--thank goodness for online monitoring-- I could see him sitting there so I asked her what she meant and she said that he just seemed tired and wasn't ready to get up and play. OK so maybe next time we need to phrase it that way first--she had me scared half to death! So anyway I went to get him and he was sitting in a wagon by the front desk playing with a toy (he was super excited to see me) and they had his mattress propped up against the wall in the hall. Ha Ha I guess he was being quarantined!! I called the doctors office and when the nurse called me back she said to just keep an eye on him but if he still had the rash and a fever in the morning to bring him in. She said we could give him some Benadryl in case it was a reaction to something that he ate but other than that just watch him closely. He seemed totally fine but we knew with that rash the day care was not going to let him come back on Wednesday so Brian took the day off and stayed home with him. They went to the park --I got picture messages all day from Brian so I was able to see how much fun Boone was having on his "sick day off". The rash was still there but since there wasn't anymore fever the nurse said we didn't have to bring him in. She said it was just a virus and the rash was part of it and it should last 48-72 hours. So basically Boone got a free day with Daddy---no complaints from him (or Brian). Then Thursday came--- :) I started to feel bad at school but didn't really know why I was feeling bad. A ton of my kids had been in and out all week with random stuff so I didn't know if I was catching a bug from them or if it was my allergies or what. We only had a half day on Thursday and I had scheduled a doctors appointment with my ob/gyn but ended up rescheduling because with a horrible headache and an achy body that was the last place I was wanting to go (all you girls know what I'm talking about I'm sure). So I went and picked up Boone early and we went home and played and napped! I was feeling a little better on Friday and went and ran some errands but by Friday night I was running a fever and had the chills pretty bad. I told Brian I couldn't remember the last time I had run a fever like that but in the middle of the night I woke up sweating like crazy so I knew my fever had broken--thank goodness!! Brian took Boone to get his hair cut on Friday. He went to a kiddie place this time and things went much better. No tears and we have a great hair cut!! YAY!!! When I got home from the store Brian and Boone were outside watering and Boone was running through the sprinklers. It was so cute!! He was soaked and was loving it. Hagen would go run to get a drink and Boone would run right in after him---it was hilarious. Leslie and Dustin had gone to the ranch for Easter and were wanting us to come down and see them but I knew I was in no condition to go, so on Saturday Brian took Boone and went to the ranch with a friend and his son. They just made it a day trip since Sunday was Easter. It was great because I was able to scrub down the house and get everything cleaned up before they got home. Easter was nice. It was cloudy and rainy that morning so we didn't hunt eggs until that afternoon but that worked out nicely because we were able to practice hunting in the house. Boone didn't have candy in the eggs because I knew it would be me and Brian eating all of the stuff and let me just tell you--a 15 month old boy is totally fine with empty eggs. So don't waste your money people, just go for plain plastic eggs!!! Pops and Grandma Lou sent Boone some neat stuff for Easter. He got two shirts (one glows in the dark...so cool), a truck, a color book, some goldfish (the snack of course) and a chocolate bunny--which he LOVED!!! He devoured the chocolate we gave him and about 30 minutes later it hit him! He was all over the place and was just laughing, it was pretty hysterical! The Easter bunny also brought him some shirts and flip flops and some bubbles to play with. He also got some pretty cute cards from his Mois and Pa, Grammy and Pa Paw and his Great Aunt and Uncle B and Bob. Brian and I got a kick out of the cards--they were hilarious!!! We are going to the lake this weekend for our friends wedding so we will get to have another Easter there. This is one spoiled child!! But like I always say--it's in the best way possible! :) So anyway back to me and my sickness (because yes it's really just all about me--ha ha). Sunday we were planning on going to the store and maybe the park but when I got out of the shower I noticed that I was covered in a rash!!! It was HORRIBLE!!!! So now I think I know what I had--obviously it was whatever Boone had because we went through the exact same thing. Except Boone's rash was gone the next day--mine however decided to hang around for 3 days!!!! So up until today I have been a speckled freak. :) Ok so anyway back to Boone-- Easter was great we were planning on going to our friends house for dinner but since I had been sick and they have 3 kids we decided that wasn't the best idea. We ended up grilling out and Boone got to hunt his Easter eggs. It was a quiet Easter with just the three of us but it was great day. We hope you all had a great one too. Thanks to our Lord and Savior who died on the cross for us and because of that we are able to celebrate him with the ones we love. God is good and gracious!! I'm reminded of that everyday when I see my son----what a sacrifice he made for us! We love you all and hope you enjoy all of the pictures and the videos!! :)

You can't really tell but this was a spaghetti o's night--yuck!
