6 Months Old!

Boone is 6 months old today! I can't believe it myself--it seems like we just had him. He has grown and changed so much since then and I thought I would put a picture of Boone then and now. Happy half birthday Boone! Your Daddy and I love you so much!

Another year older!

And wiser I hope! :) So I am now officially 28-- I'm o.k. with that number---now talk to me in 2 years and we will see how I am. I had a great birthday--thanks to everyone for the sweet cards and phone calls and of course the presents! :) You made my birthday really special so thank you. Stephanie took me out to lunch for my birthday and it was so much fun. We just got to visit about all of the stuff we care about-- no offense to the boys but we usually end up talking about hunting and flooring--both of which are great, don't get me wrong--But it was really nice for us to just get to talk about other stuff. Thanks Steph-- I had a great time and we have to do it again soon. Brian and Boone gave me some really sweet cards and a new purse--it's awesome! We were going to go out but I was worn out and nothing sounded better than a movie, some beers and a pizza---so that was my birthday and it was perfect--just getting to spend the evening with my two favorite boys. Friday we went to the lake, it was really hot there but really pretty too. They were having boat races on the lake this weekend--we didn't see any of them but there were a lot of people around. Oh and the worst thing ever happened Friday night (well not the worst thing ever but pretty close!) So I was walking in to the house and I was carrying Boone--well my foot got wrapped up in these long blind cords that are on the door and I tripped and yes I fell and Boone fell! It was the worst feeling in the world. Now granted it could have been a whole lot worse considering Boone didn't hit anything but I think he got a case of whiplash and it definitely scared the you know what out of him. He freaked and started screaming but was fine after a few minutes. I felt like the worst mom ever but he survived and to be honest it's probably going to happen again-- I'm not the most graceful person ever! Saturday night we went to a baby shower for our friend Will and his girlfriend Roxanne. It was the first time we met her and she seems really sweet. Will is just an awesome guy and he is going to be a great dad (he's having a little girl). It was nice to get out and see friends we hadn't seen in a while-- we had a really good time. So another weekend is over and I can't believe July is here already. Where does the time go? Hope you all have a good week and we love you!
Just chillin with my toys

This is how he likes to sleep now.....so cute

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Dad's Day to everyone! Sorry it's a day late- I started this yesterday but I guess the day just got away from me. I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing day with the people you love--we had a great time celebrating Brian's 1st! We had a really relaxing day again-- we did a little yard work, washed the dogs and Brian grilled some steaks for us. Boone went to bed early (7:00!) which made for a nice quiet evening with Brian-- those don't happen too often these days. I think Boone really enjoyed his Daddy yesterday and hopefully Brian had a pretty nice day too. We gave him a couple of rounds of golf ---for a little time off and some R & R-- and some other stuff that he hasn't received yet (since I waited a couple of days too long to order it...ooops) But I'll show you when it gets here! :) So a very special Dad's Day thanks to our Dad's who have done so much for us. My Dad told me yesterday when I made a joke about a Father's Day present--he's sending something and I said oh I get something for Father's Day and he said "You may be a great mom but you are no Daddy." I laughed but then I started to think and you know he was right. Moms are awesome (of course...since I'm one!) and they can do everything in the world for you but there is just something about your Dad---you know?! They are strong but fun---and firm (when the times right) but they are huge softies too! I know Brian and I are fortunate because we lucked out with some pretty great men in our lives. Thank you all for being such a great example to us and for always loving us unconditionally. We love you! And Happy Father's Day to you Pa (we can't wait to see you and Mois soon!) and all of our friends who are getting to celebrate with their little ones Cory, Jeff, Cade, Trent, Tim, Matt, Dan, Russell, Clay, Kyle, Chris, Robert and Raymond (and I could go on and on) :) But I have to say I think Boone and I lucked out with the best Daddy! Brian you are an amazing husband and I am so lucky for that but Boone got the best deal because he has you as a Dad. I know the future is full of wonderful moments with Boone and I hope every Father's Day and all the days in between you know how much we both love you and need you in our lives. We love you Daddy!! Hope you had a great day yesterday and hope you all have a great week ahead!

These are some pictures of Brian and Boone playing this weekend....so cute!

It looks like he's bitting him....

Then laughing like Gotcha!

I love my Daddy!!

A pretty chill week...

So we had a pretty relaxing and calm week. Boone has been teething this week and I feel really bad for him but he seems to be handling it ok. I really think we have a tough little boy on our hands--which is good because I think he will need to be for all of the trouble he will be getting into. He went to Mother's Day Out on Tues. and Thurs. this week. When I dropped him off on Tues. he cried so I had to run out. It breaks my heart when he does that and it has started to happen a lot more often. I think he's hitting that phase when they cry when you walk out of their sight. It's so funny because I can be sitting in the room silent just watching him and he is as happy as he can be-- since he can still see me. But as soon as you leave his sight it's scream time! He has also really started to laugh a lot and we know now that he is very ticklish. Brian gets him going the best. I keep trying to get it on video but he stops every time I start filming. What a stinker! Brian was shocked the other day to see how much Boone is rolling. He just flips back and forth forever. We have been practicing on sitting up but I think we might be working on that for a while! :) This weekend was really nice because we were able to just lay around all day Saturday. We just took it easy and I have to say it has been a long time since we were able to do that and it was perfect. Hope you all had a great weekend too.
Boone grabbed my beer one day.... I think he was a little stressed out

We had a naked day and I love all of the pictures from it

Happy Face

I don't know how many of you know that Brian and I call Boone Mister a lot. I don't know how it started but it's just one of his many nicknames. Well I found this shirt and had to get it since it said Mister Adorable....and I might add he is quite adorable! :)

Mr. GQ

I thought this deserved a post of it's own because this has become my FAVORITE picture of Boone. He is such an awesome little guy and he has the best personality.....we are so lucky!Hope you all like it as much as I do.

Trip to Odessa

We made it back from Odessa and we had a great time. It was so much fun to see everyone and get to stay for more than just the weekend but there is no doubt that Boone is very happy to be home. We went down on Wednesday and he did really good in the car. About 3 1/2 hours in we stopped and Mom got in the back with him to keep him company and feed him a bottle and it's a good thing she did because he got pretty fussy towards the end. Mom made up this story about an elephant in the jungle... He loved it! Anytime he would start to fuss she would tell him the story and he just watched her and laughed. It was really sweet. Wednesday night Leslie came over to see us and she got to watch him go completely crazy in his jumper. We took it home along with a million other things (the car was so loaded down) but I'm so glad we did because he loves bouncing in it. The poor thing has a little blister on his toe from bouncing so much but that hasn't stopped him yet. :) Then Thursday we went to see P.A. at his office and went to Midland to have lunch with Leslie and Dustin and Dad. It was a busy day and I made the mistake of scheduling stuff right during his nap time....that was a big mistake! I have to remember that from now on. Friday Mom and I took Boone to run some errands. He did really good but you could tell he was tired of being in his car seat and he was tired of being on the go. We went back home and just hung out until dinner when Meg, Laney and Jake and Leslie and Dustin came over to eat dinner. Laney was showing Boone how to play with all of his toys--she's such a good cousin! Then Saturday we went for a long walk in the morning because Boone was really tired. It worked though and he had a great nap and then that afternoon we went out to Grandaddy and GiGi's for dinner. Before we left I could see a storm starting to move in but as we got closer to Dad's the wind started to pick up and dirt was blowing everywhere. Then it started raining and when I was almost to their house it started to hail on us! I was so surprised--luckily I was right next to a gas station so I pulled in really quick under the last spot left at the pumps. It was one of the end ones so we were still out there a little bit but luckily we didn't get any hail damage. It was freaky though. Boone could have cared less he just sat back there and chewed on his toy. We made it to the house and the rest of the evening was pretty nice. We were able to sit outside and eat which was really nice. Boone and Jake got to play together although I'm not sure Jake was too excited because at one point Boone was licking Jake's face and he was crying. It was really funny but I felt bad for him. Laney was a hoot--as always. She wanted to be pulled around in the wagon the whole time we were there then at the end of the night she found some frogs but she didn't want to get to close or touch them. Grandaddy found some junebugs to feed them and she loved it! We had a great time but Boone was worn out. We turned off their street and I never heard another sound from him. Yesterday morning Meg and Jake came over to say bye and it was hilarious because Boone and Jake were wearing the same thing....random! Grammy had given the boys these outfits when we went to the lake and they looked so cute together. As you can see from the pictures Boone was all over Jake again! Poor thing-- one of these days Jake is going to sock Boone in the face. We decided to come home yesterday because Boone really wasn't sleeping good at home and you could tell he was ready to be back in his house. He did good on the way back but there was about 30 minutes when he was so mad and Mom was doing everything to keep him happy. I don't know what I would have done without her. When we got home Boone was so happy to see Brian and it was almost an instant happiness knowing he was here. He never slept more than 3 hours while we were gone (fun for me right?!) but last night he slept from 10-6:30. Then went back to bed until 8 and is asleep again in Grammy's lap. So as you can see he is worn out and so glad to be home. We had a really great time and can't wait to see everyone again soon. I just have to say thanks to my mom who came all this way to help me and spend time with Boone. We love you so much! Hope you all have a wonderful week!
