3 Months Old!!!

Today Boone is 3 months old! It is so hard to believe--it has really flown by! Boone now weighs 15.2 pounds and is 25 inches long. He is a strong and sweet little boy. For Easter Grammy bought him his very own exersaucer! How exciting! But as you can see we couldn't wait until Easter to use it---Boone loves it! Thanks Grammy and Pa Paw! I got a little video of Boone in it this afternoon. He has a little cold (poor thing) but he acts like he feels good and he hasn't run any fever so we think he's ok, just annoyed probably. But other than that it has been a great 3 month birthday! Last night we went to Wimberley to help Chad and Stephanie with their tree but the bobcat they got to dig the hole didn't work so we weren't able to do anything --but we did stay for a fantastic dinner. Steph and Chad made us shrimp fajitas and they were awesome--thanks guys! Boone had a great time hanging out with his aunt and uncle and of course Zoe too!

Another week survived

Well we had another great week at day care!!! It makes things so much easier on me knowing that he really likes the day care and the girls that work there. I was dropping him off the other day and one of the teachers came over to get him and he just smiled at her and was listening to her talk (she's from England and I think Boone really likes to listen to her--she has such a pretty accent). So I like to think that he misses us when he's there but I know that he's having a really good time. They had an exciting day on Wednesday because the fire alarms went off accidentally. They usually have planned drills and the teachers are somewhat aware of when they will be but this time they were all caught off guard and to make matters worse it was during the babies nap time! 7 out of the 8 babies were asleep so they had to wake all of them up and load them into the cribs and get them outside. Needless to say the babies were not happy but when I picked Boone up they told me that he was the only one that didn't cry. They said he just laid there and looked around the whole time. I told them that he was pretty used to loud noises--I mean we are his parents! The lady that runs the place was telling me the other day that all of the girls talk about how laid back and sweet he is. I mean I hate to brag on my own child but then again that's what moms do...right?! Boone spends most of his afternoons in one of their exer-saucers and he has gotten so strong! And I think he really likes them--we might have to get him one (but don't tell his Dad) :) The other day he fell asleep in it and the girls were nice enough to take a picture for me. It is really cute!! Brian surprised me with a new washing machine yesterday which was SO EXCITING!! We had been battling with our washing machine for a year and it had become so frustrating. I am doing more laundry now with Boone being here and it was taking longer than ever to do a load. You can see why I am excited, right?! We are headed out to Wimberley tonight to see Chad and Stephanie. Apparently the guys are planting a 1500 lb. tree!? You will have to wait to see how that turns out. I think Steph and Boone and I will just be hanging out watching. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Blessings!

Driving to school this morning I started to think about the weekend we had and all of the things that have been going on recently and it made me start to think about all of the blessings in our lives. I think we forget from day to day to be thankful for the things we have and to take time to remember and cherish the little (or big) moments that make up the life we have. Brian and I have been so blessed to have a wonderful family that is full of love and support and now we have a son to return those blessings and life lessons to. I am reminded each time he laughs or smiles and yes even when he cries about how lucky we are to have this beautiful, perfect, sweet little boy in our family. I know there are too many days to count when I come home tired and stressed and instead of seeing all of the amazing things that happened that day I can only remember the things that annoyed or inconvenienced me. I have to remind myself that God created this beautiful place for us to live and for us to ENJOY! I have been so blessed with a husband who loves me and is a wonderful dad to our son, a son who absolutely steals my heart, a house that truly is a home and a job that I love to come to with friends who are so much fun to be around. I am a very lucky girl and I hope you all feel as lucky in life as I do. And I also hope that you can find some time in your day to think about all of the blessings and challenges that God puts in front of us. One of my favorite sayings is God will not bring you to it if he can't bring you through it. I hope you all have a wonderfully blessed week. We love you all for being a part of our family!

Our most precious blessing!

(Dana took this on our play date and it has quickly become one of my favorites!)

Lots of exciting times!!

Well, after all of that worrying I have to say it has been a great week for us! Boone started day care and has been doing SO good!! I am so proud of our little man and am so happy that this week went as well as it did. Monday was hard and Tuesday was a little better but by Wednesday we had this day care thing figured out! Brian wakes up with Boone and feeds him and gets him changed and ready for the day while I am getting ready for school. Then we are off and I usually have Boone dropped off by 7 and picked up by 4. The girls keep saying how good of a baby he is and I must say I have to agree! :) He has made lots of new friends this week and seems to love it all---but let me tell you he is wiped out when he gets home at the end of the day. I guess things are a lot more exciting at day care!! Last Friday I took Boone over for a play date to Allison's house with her son Reid and Dana brought Anna. It was so cute to see the three different stages they are in right now. Boone at 2 1/2 months was still laying down and would occasionally lift up and then Anna at 4 1/2 months and she has her head up looking all around and then Reid who's 9 months and he is crawling all over the place. It was so much fun to see them all together and just sit and talk with Allison and Dana--next time we are going to try and go to the park--it's going to be fun watching them all grow up and change! Boone is getting so close to rolling over and I keep trying to catch it on camera for everyone but I just know it's going to happen when I'm not there. We'll practice today and see what happens! :) Last night we went to Gruene to meet up with Chad and Stephanie for dinner. Chad's birthday was Wednesday (Happy Birthday Chad!) so we loaded up Boone and off we went. He slept the whole way and was great through dinner--He ate a little and just hung out watching all of the people. It was such a great night--we had some really good food and the company was even better! Plus Uncle Chad and Aunt Stephanie are pretty good to Boone (they already bought him a present for his 1st birthday--but we will keep it a secret for now!) Boone was a super baby on his first time eating out with us, I think we will have to do it more often. We slept in this morning and just plan on relaxing the rest of the weekend. We hope you all had a great week and have a restful weekend. Love you!

Family!

Well it is only Friday and we have already had a very busy but wonderful week! Aunt Leslie came to visit Sunday and stayed with us for the night. She had some meetings here and came in a day early to see Boone and hang out with us. Sunday afternoon Brian and Boone had their first big solo outing together to Bass Pro Shops then to the Airport to pick up Leslie. Brian said Boone had a couple of meltdowns but they survived! The only fatality was one of Boone's bottles but hey if that's the worst that happens we will take it! On Monday Boone's Grandma Lou and Great Grandmother Mois and Great Grandfather Pa all came to San Antonio to visit us. We had a great time! They helped us plant some more bushes and flowers in our yard and now it looks fantastic! And we finally got some rain here so it was all perfect timing. We sat out on the patio one night and just enjoyed all of their hard work (I mainly supervised) :) and visited-- it was so nice. We love having our families around us and we were lucky enough to have lots of family with us these last few weeks. I know Boone has enjoyed it just as much as we have. He even got him some change to put in his piggy bank from Pa. We are such bad parents we hadn't even started that yet--oops! Thanks Pa!! Cindy and I also went to take Boone's things up to his daycare to drop them off for next week. There are 7 other babies in the room with him and the teachers there seem so sweet. I think he will really like it there--let's hope so! We start on Monday so I'll let you know how the first week goes. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! These are just some pictures from the last week.
I wonder what he's dreaming about :)
