Spring Break

Well Spring Break has come and gone but we had a really great time!! We got to go to the ranch, play with some of Boone's friends, cook out with some of ours and still had a whole lot of time to just lay around and relax. It was WONDERFUL!! Brian even kept Boone at the ranch an extra day with him so I could have a day to myself. I can't even begin to tell you how bad I needed that. I don't think I even realized how much I needed some time off until I actually had it. I'm pretty sure (I could be wrong) that it was Brian's first night EVER to have Boone by himself. Now let me say that Chad, Jeff and Justin were all there and they are all super with Boone but usually Brian has had Grandma Lou or Mois or Adele to help him out so this was the first real time he had Boone for a whole night and he did AWESOME!! He even said that he was glad I left Boone with him because he had a really good time. So sweet!! :) I have to say Boone is just a ton of fun right now and is a little talking machine! I swear the kid never stops talking--one of my friends said "hmmm I wonder where he gets that"----I'm assuming she meant that he gets that from Brian---ha ha!!! :) He's saying new words all the time but our new favorite is please. It is the sweetest thing ever---he doesn't quite use it the right way but like Brian said we just need to be happy that he's saying it. :) I'll try to get it on video--it'll just melt your heart! Some other things he is saying: dog, juice, cow (and then he moos-ha ha) mama, dada, Mois (he does say this really good now--sorry to all the grandmas--great grandma beat you to it!) and then he also says that all the time when he's pointing at things. Is he saying that? We don't know but it sure sounds like it. Oh and he does say I love you--sometimes. Then other than that it's babble babble, yadda yadda, jibber jabber all the time! He always has something important to say--at least he thinks it's important. And oh man this boy can throw a temper tantrum!!! It is so freaking hilarious--of course we don't laugh at him (at least we try not to). If he doesn't get what he wants he will drop to his knees and throw himself on the ground while he screams and rolls around. Of course when you pick him up he immediately stops and starts talking like nothing just happened. I don't know how we are going to discipline him because everything he does is cute/funny :) I've put a lot of pictures from our play date with Anna and Reid on here. They are so funny and they all have their own agendas. Reid wanted to throw rocks (boy this kid has an arm on him too!) Anna loved to swing and slide---she did NOT want to take turns on the slide and when you see her picture you'll see how much she LOVED it!! Then there's Boone. All he cared about was the food---shocking I know!! He wanted everyone's food and all of the cookies Allison made. He was like a little Godzilla stomping all over the blanket on all the food trying to get from one thing to the other. Quite amusing I might add!! It's always a ton of fun to get to see the threebies together and always great to spend an afternoon with some good friends. I think next time we might try a big indoor play room--- now that will be an adventure!! Over all it was a great Spring Break--long enough to relax and enjoy our family but short enough to make me long for the summer when I can spend all of my time with my boys. The good thing is it will be here before I know it (48 more days)! This weekend we are going to go see a band we love--Micky and the Motorcars--I can't wait!! Boone will be happy since Angela is coming to keep him--he seems to really like her and we do too so that makes it easy. Oh Happy (late) Birthday to Chad ---we love you!! I guess that's all for now---hope you all have a good end to the week and a great weekend.

Why are you laughing at my crazy outfit?

Watch me Mom....I'm crazy!!

Let's see what can I make for dinner?

Look at those cheeks---he was playing hard!

Oh boy--here we go again!!

Yummmm.....ribs!!!

Check out the new shirt my Daddy bought me (nice huh?!)

Hey Miss Anna--check out all these cool rocks!

All doing their own thing :)

Weeeeeeee

This was making Anna sleepy!

Follow the leader......in a circle

I love this one!

Sweet girl

And the little man (he says thank you mama--- it is precious!!)

Picnic with great friends

Boone decided to sit with Allison---for a brief moment

Close up of the cookie monster

Hmmm what's in the wagon?

I don't know what's in the wagon Anna but I know my cookie is under it--don't worry I got it!!

Here we go in all directions again!

Cutie!!

Marching in a line

Hey friend-- one day you'll be able to do it too

I hope this isn't a glimpse into their future! :)

Anna is trying to squeeze her leg through (possible yes) but Boone just said screw it I'm going to shove my huge head through

Reid's got it figured out--he's busting out of this jail

Awww---sweet friends

Anna and Reid going for a ride--but wait......

Boone had to squeeze in too---Anna was not happy about sharing a seat with him.
Can you blame her?!?

Reid is saying Help Mama (seriously that's what he was saying!) because Anna is trying to take the ball--Boone wants no part in any of it

Trying to flip out of the swing

Oh boy that was fun!

Best picture of the day!!! Her face says it all!! :)

Reid's a big boy and got to slide down the whole way--way to go Reid!!

Are you digging the comb over?!

Yes people the manual labor has begun--- I knew we had kids for a reason (ha ha)

It looks like he's trying to eat Brian's shoe but he just found a new game--trying to put Daddy's shoe on his foot

But Daddy caught him instead

Look at that sweet face!! I love my little man so much!! :)

Ok so I have no idea how to flip these and I never remember that when I'm filming them so if you want to watch sideways you can--I'll try to remember for next time. Sorry!!
He loves this thing tied around his head--too funny!!

Anyway this is him dancing away--he does it all the time. A boy after my own heart---look out ladies!! :)

SORRY!!!

OK so I don't think sorry will cut it but I honestly do feel really bad that I haven't updated our blog in almost a month. But man--- to be honest it's been really nice to not think about. When I decided that I didn't have to do it every week it took the pressure off of it all and I seemed to have just let it fall through the cracks. And for that I really am sorry. I know you all like to check up on Boone because you all love him as much as we do and that's the whole reason I started this so I'll try to get back to posting regularly. But if this happens again (and I promise you it will) please don't worry about us. Life is good for us, too good I think sometimes --- we are just living life with a crazy 14 month old. :) So on to the adventures we've had over the last few weeks-- and boy have we had some!! We got our 1st haircut---well Boone's first haircut! And I swear you would have thought that his hair had nerves and we were brutally torturing him with every snip. Although you can't really tell from the pictures (I don't know why he looks so calm in them) he was not a happy camper at all!! The poor girl cutting his hair was about 5 months pregnant and I think at that moment she was glad to be having a girl because boy oh boy was Boone wild!! And bless her heart, I don't hold it against her at all because there is no way I could have cut it but it was a BAD haircut!! I keep telling everyone at first he looked like Hitler. I know you are all thinking that I shouldn't be saying that about my own son but he really did look like him---and the dot of chocolate on his upper lip from the cookie I bribed him with did not help at all. I wish I had a picture of it--you would all think he looked just like Hitler too. Luckily that phase passed but then we moved in to the Rob Blagojevich stage. If you don't know who he is then you can google him but Boone was rockin that hair style for a while too. Now it has grown out a little and we are starting to get shaggy again in the front but there is NO WAY I am doing that again anytime soon. I love my baby with shaggy hair so that's just how it's going to be!! :) We've had some pretty great weekends lately too. We had a couple at home--the first one involved a visit to the pediatric ER. I can hear everyone now-- oh my gosh!! what? Yes we had to visit the ER that Friday afternoon. Boone's day care called earlier that day and said he was running a low fever. I thought it was because of his teeth but Brian was in Austin so I had to go pick him up since he can't stay there in case he really is sick. Well we lounged around and played then took a nap. Brian got home around 3 and we just laid around some more but when we finally got up and around we decided to take his temperature because he felt pretty warm....well not only did he have a temperature but it was 104.3!! WHAT?! You can imagine how quick the panic set in. Brian calmly reminded me that the thermometer could be wrong and that we should try again in a few minutes. Well that time it was 104.6!! I called our pediatrician and they said they could see him on Monday---are you freaking kidding me!! My baby has a 104.6 and you want me to wait until Monday. I couldn't even find the words to tell them what I thought about them at that moment. So Boone got a dose of Motrin and off we went to the hospital. They ran a strep, flu and RSV test---all negative. Did a chest X-ray and it was clean. We have no idea what it was but they gave us some amoxicillian and sent us home. I have to say the hospital was so nice and everyone that worked there was simply incredible. So nice, so patient and very helpful. We left still wondering what had just happened but satisfied with the answers we did get. It was not a fun night but we were glad everything turned out ok. Oh and by the way according to the doctor at the hospital 104 really isn't that high for him. I still think that is incredibly wrong but I guess she knows more about it than I do. :) Boone also got to experience his first snow day----well sort of. It snowed kind of hard for a little while so we bundled Boone up and took him out to see it. It was really cute because he was trying to grab them in the air---good luck buddy!! It didn't snow long but it was fun while it lasted. Maybe some day there will be enough to stick on the ground so we can really play in it. The next weekend Brian and I took a night off and got Angela our babysitter to come over so we could go out with Chad and Stephanie--and some other friends to see Emory Quinn. They were playing in San Antonio this time so it was a lot closer--thank goodness! They were AWESOME!!! Not like that is surprising but man I love that band. We got to meet Case (the bass player) this time and he is just as cool and nice as Clint is. I told him that Case is what I would love to name my next boy (if we have a boy next) and he said he loved growing up with that name! Ok nobody better steal that one---seriously! This bit me in the butt last time but I'm putting it out there that nobody better take that name!!! That or Hayes--those are my two favorite now. Why am I thinking about baby names you ask? I have no idea but I am always thinking of names and those are just my absolute favorite right now. We got to see Clint that night too. Brian talked to him for a while and then Clint saw Chad walking around and thought he was Brian it was hilarious! Chad was like uhhh I think you think I'm my brother--ha ha. I talked to him after the show and he was so nice--he gave me a huge hug and gave me the set list for their show. Why would I want that? Because they are going to be Uber Famous some day and I'll be rich!!! Ha Ha--Pipe Dreams my friend, pipe dreams!! :) I posted a video Brian took of them singing part of my favorite song. I tried to get it on my playlist but they don't have any songs of Emory Quinn to add yet. Hopefully one day soon they will and I'll put it on here but I hope you can hear it ok. While I'm on that subject I'm sure you've noticed that I changed the song. This is a new one by Train--who I loved back in college but I hadn't heard about them in a while then all of the sudden here they are again with this awesome song. No it's not about Boone or our family but it is a great song and super catchy. Hope yall like it too!! Last weekend we went to San Angelo and got to see Grammy and Pa Paw. We went in town to go to our friends Will and Roxanne's wedding shower. It was a lot of fun but we are really looking forward to the wedding in April. They are such a fun couple and we just have a really good time with them both. And besides we are going to be in laws some day when Boone and Kennedy get married!! :) It was great to see Grammy and Pa Paw--Boone had a blast and of course he was spoiled rotten by the time we got him home Sunday but we love it when they spoil him-- it was a lot of fun!! I wish the weather had been warmer so we could have been outside more but maybe when we go back in April it will be warmer for us. Next week is my Spring Break so I am super excited. We are going down to the ranch today with Chad and Stephanie and our friend Jeff is meeting us down there too so it should be lots of fun. We are going to celebrate Chad's birthday a little early (it's on the 18th) and just have a relaxing time. It's always good to see those two and when you throw in Jeff---well that's just a good time waiting to happen! We don't have much planned for the break- we're going to have a play date with our friends Reid and Anna so I'm really excited about that and then we are going to have dinner with some good friends we haven't seen in a long time so that will be fun too. People keep asking about our big plans and I've never been more excited to tell them that we don't have any. Spring cleaning will be in full effect and lounging will be our motto---wow I'm really excited about that. We love you all and thank you so much for caring about us so much and for being loyal followers of our blog. Boone is changing so fast (it's about to make me cry thinking about it) we are just trying to enjoy every last second of it because before we know it he will be grown and gone. We are the luckiest people to get to share our days with him and he continues to make us better parents and better human beings. He is pure joy!! Enjoy the pictures of our "little boy" who is too quickly becoming our "big boy".
Pre hair cut--enjoying a cookie (his new word---he says it and it's so stinking cute)

This is BEFORE we even started cutting his hair---he doesn't even look like himself!!

Things seem ok

I think I was singing to him at this point

Then Daddy had to take over

We even tried standing with him---that poor girl!!

What happened to my hair?

You can kind of see some chunks missing on the sides

the back looks really cute--like a little boy

trying to grab snowflakes-- I love the scarf---ha ha!!

this picture is so sweet--- you can see the flakes a little bit on the left side--it looks like little pieces of light coming through the trees but it's the snow

he thinks it's hilarious to stick things in his mouth and then show me---he knows he's going to get in trouble but he just turns and runs away laughing

Daddy was trying to help him stand on the ball

Boone and Grammy playing in the yard

Playing with pans---one of our favorite things to do

what a face!!

Ha Ha!!! Even better!!!

Such a sweet little boy---he's just the best!!
