Trip to Odessa

We made it back from Odessa and we had a great time. It was so much fun to see everyone and get to stay for more than just the weekend but there is no doubt that Boone is very happy to be home. We went down on Wednesday and he did really good in the car. About 3 1/2 hours in we stopped and Mom got in the back with him to keep him company and feed him a bottle and it's a good thing she did because he got pretty fussy towards the end. Mom made up this story about an elephant in the jungle... He loved it! Anytime he would start to fuss she would tell him the story and he just watched her and laughed. It was really sweet. Wednesday night Leslie came over to see us and she got to watch him go completely crazy in his jumper. We took it home along with a million other things (the car was so loaded down) but I'm so glad we did because he loves bouncing in it. The poor thing has a little blister on his toe from bouncing so much but that hasn't stopped him yet. :) Then Thursday we went to see P.A. at his office and went to Midland to have lunch with Leslie and Dustin and Dad. It was a busy day and I made the mistake of scheduling stuff right during his nap time....that was a big mistake! I have to remember that from now on. Friday Mom and I took Boone to run some errands. He did really good but you could tell he was tired of being in his car seat and he was tired of being on the go. We went back home and just hung out until dinner when Meg, Laney and Jake and Leslie and Dustin came over to eat dinner. Laney was showing Boone how to play with all of his toys--she's such a good cousin! Then Saturday we went for a long walk in the morning because Boone was really tired. It worked though and he had a great nap and then that afternoon we went out to Grandaddy and GiGi's for dinner. Before we left I could see a storm starting to move in but as we got closer to Dad's the wind started to pick up and dirt was blowing everywhere. Then it started raining and when I was almost to their house it started to hail on us! I was so surprised--luckily I was right next to a gas station so I pulled in really quick under the last spot left at the pumps. It was one of the end ones so we were still out there a little bit but luckily we didn't get any hail damage. It was freaky though. Boone could have cared less he just sat back there and chewed on his toy. We made it to the house and the rest of the evening was pretty nice. We were able to sit outside and eat which was really nice. Boone and Jake got to play together although I'm not sure Jake was too excited because at one point Boone was licking Jake's face and he was crying. It was really funny but I felt bad for him. Laney was a hoot--as always. She wanted to be pulled around in the wagon the whole time we were there then at the end of the night she found some frogs but she didn't want to get to close or touch them. Grandaddy found some junebugs to feed them and she loved it! We had a great time but Boone was worn out. We turned off their street and I never heard another sound from him. Yesterday morning Meg and Jake came over to say bye and it was hilarious because Boone and Jake were wearing the same thing....random! Grammy had given the boys these outfits when we went to the lake and they looked so cute together. As you can see from the pictures Boone was all over Jake again! Poor thing-- one of these days Jake is going to sock Boone in the face. We decided to come home yesterday because Boone really wasn't sleeping good at home and you could tell he was ready to be back in his house. He did good on the way back but there was about 30 minutes when he was so mad and Mom was doing everything to keep him happy. I don't know what I would have done without her. When we got home Boone was so happy to see Brian and it was almost an instant happiness knowing he was here. He never slept more than 3 hours while we were gone (fun for me right?!) but last night he slept from 10-6:30. Then went back to bed until 8 and is asleep again in Grammy's lap. So as you can see he is worn out and so glad to be home. We had a really great time and can't wait to see everyone again soon. I just have to say thanks to my mom who came all this way to help me and spend time with Boone. We love you so much! Hope you all have a wonderful week!

WOW! We hit the jackpot on pictures! I miss you guys already. There is just not enough time. When we get this building finished, maybe you can spend the night with us. We really enjoyed having everyone. But your Dad and I really looked like crap. Should have passed on the pictures. Oh well, I don't think the babies cared! I 'm glad you and Boone made it home safe, and I know Brian missed you both. It was great seeing everyone. We Love Ya'll. Love, GiGi P.S. Bridget, thank you for riding with Boone, and Jessica!

Looks like Granddaddy and GiGi were having a great time. Just wait till they get just a little older and they will love to bring their tricycles and other little riding machines to your house to ride the sidewalks. Olivia and Jonah love to be outside all the time and ride, ride, ride.
They all look so happy, so great to have them all so close in age. And I must add, they are all so cute!!!
Love you all, Kitty
