Well I can't believe it has taken me a MONTH to post all of the pictures from the boys big delivery day! First I'll start off with a picture of the boys today at 5 weeks 1 day. Case is on the left, Ryder on the right. They have changed so much already!!
Now for the delivery. Everything went great--the boys were able to wait until our scheduled date so there was no rushing around because my water broke or I was having contractions or anything like that. I almost wished I could have experienced that excitement but seeing how great both of my deliveries were I am fine with how things happened. The morning of the 22nd we just took it easy and hung out with Boone before we dropped him off at school. This was by far the hardest moment of the day if not the entire pregnancy. I was so sad leaving him there because I knew that in a few hours he wasn't going to be "the baby" anymore and I didn't know how he was going to handle that---but more of that to come later! ;) So we were off to the hospital. I had to be there at 10 and as soon as the paperwork was done I was off for IV's and blood work---so much fun!!! I got to see all of my family before they took us back around 12:15. Except for the epidural (and a lot of itchiness) I didn't feel a thing and at 12:57 p.m. Case Cooper Sills was born weighing 6 pounds 10 ounces and measuring 18 1/2 inches. Then not to be left out too long his "little" brother Ryder Hudson was born at 12:58 p.m. weighing 7 pounds 12 ounces and measuring 19 1/2 inches. They were and are perfect. They did great breathing on their own and since there were no complications the boys were able to stay with us the entire time. This was something I was always hopeful for but didn't really think was possible. I am so grateful that they were able to spend all of that time with us instead of with nurses in the NICU!! So here are some pictures from our stay at the hospital.
(she gave the boys these awesome tummy mats--a frog and a lion. They are so cute!!)
Well a little was for the twins but most for big brother Boone!!
Ok so just a little more-- Brian and I are doing great! We are getting some good sleep thanks to our awesome babies sleeping in 4 to 5 hour stretches at night and even some 6 hour stretches here and there!! Woo Hoo!! Brian has been amazing and so helpful. It can get a little crazy sometimes so it's nice to have someone to look at and just laugh with--because what else can you really do?!? I'm glad I have him and we can go on this journey together!!
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers through our entire pregnancy and for your continued prayers for our new family. Thanks to everyone who sent things for the boys and for those that brought us food and for those that just came by to meet them. You are all so special to our family and we are so grateful for your generosity. I have to say a special thanks to my mom "Grammy" and Brian's mom "Grandma Lou" for coming and staying with us and helping out as we adjusted to our new schedules and also to all of our family that came in to be with us when the boys were born, we are so lucky to have you all and our boys are even luckier to have you in their lives as role models, friends and of course as family. One last thing, I have to give my thanks and praise to God for our two little miracles and for my family. God is so good!! I am reminded of this every day in my little boys faces and in the beauty around me. I am so grateful for his watchful vigilance over me during my pregnancy and for his unending love for my family. My biggest hope is that his presence will be strong in my boys and they will grow to know him personally in thier lives. That is the most I could ever ask for.
It's going to be hard to post like this often so from time to time I may just add pictures (since i know that's what you really want anyway) and just jot down some words from time to time. Hope that's ok!! Also, the new song is just one of many I love from Mumford and Sons. The words don't have any meaning for what's going on in my life now, just love the song!!
Love you all!!
