I say it every time but I still can't believe how fast the last 7 months have gone. It doesn't feel like he should be 7 months old yet...it's crazy! We are just hanging around the house today--it's overcast so we may go for a walk. What a great day! I have to say Happy Birthday to my grandmother Goggy-- she is 86 today and my mom and aunt are with her in El Paso and throwing her a birthday lunch right now. I hope you had a wonderful birthday and we love you so much-- I hope Mom and B didn't drive you too crazy! :) Also I have to say Happy Birthday to our cousin Trey-- he is 18 (oh gosh I think 18 maybe 19-- sorry if I'm wrong) Trey has been working at the ranch this summer and I'm sure he is hoping for some cloudy skies today because I'm sure it is hot as heck down there right now. Trey I'll pray for cooler weather for your birthday and we hope you have an awesome day-- love you. So the picture is from the Lake and it's a hat Lou bought for Boone-- too cute! He seriously makes the funniest faces... I love it! Happy 7 Months Boone-- you are everything to us and we love you so much!!

So close...
Sorry I'm just now posting but my computer has not been cooperating and I am completely frustrated by it but oh well....that's how it goes. I think I have too many pictures stored on it......imagine that! :) That's actually really ironic because I don't know what happened this week but I have NO pictures of Boone....seriously I don't know where I was this week or what I was thinking. I bet Boone was glad to be away from the camera for a little while but I'm really bummed because I missed a ton of great shots of Boone with my Dad's family. We went to San Angelo for my cousin Allison's wedding reception this weekend-- it was a ton of fun because we got to see Laney and Jake plus all of my cousins that I grew up with and they got to meet Boone for the first time. It was so nice to see all of my family and even though we weren't there very long we had a chance to catch up and have a few good laughs. Unfortunately for my cousin Courtney most of the jokes were made by my Dad about her recent trip home from Spain. It was all pretty funny though and we really did have a great time. I love being around all of my Dad's family-- and I'm so glad that Boone now knows why we love them so much. But anyway back to the pictures (or lack there of really). Like I said I have no idea why I didn't take my camera to the wedding or get it out the next day at breakfast but I promise next time I'll get some! :) Boone had a blast seeing his Grandaddy and GiGi. I think GiGi's arms were about to fall off with all of the bouncing Boone was doing -- he's like a 20 pound medicine ball! My sweet little chunk. Some people we met at the reception were calling him chunky monkey by the end of the night. It seems pretty appropriate :) So about my title So close... I bet you were wondering why I named it that...right?! :) Boone is getting so close to doing so many things it's just insane. Everyday he sits more and more on his own....it is really cute! And he is getting close to feeding himself (little snacks with his fingers) and close to crawling which is insanely scary to me but that's ok. He's also close to teeth and talking and many more things. It is great to have this sweet little boy to watch grow and change and to have this amazing connection with him already---We are so blessed by him! Have a great week!
At the hotel Sunday morning when it dawned on me that I had not taken a single picture of Boone all week! I don't know if you can tell but he has his foot stuck in the toy-- ha ha :)
Ok this picture is really creepy to me but I had to show yall-- I took this right when his eyes were closing and this is how it showed up-- weird huh?!

Lake LBJ
This week was another fun but busy week for us. On Wednesday we packed up (a huge car load) and went to Lake LBJ for a week with Brian's family. Jeff and Cindy (Pops and Lou) had come in last weekend to keep Boone and so after they left here they went to the ranch for a few days then we all met up again in Kingsland for a family vacation. It was so much fun. They rented this great house that was actually on the Colorado River and it had a pool so Boone was able to go swimming every day. He loved it! He would splash and splash but I'm not sure he ever figured out where the water was coming from. It was pretty cute. And he did really good on the trip. We were lucky enough --or really everyone was sweet enough to let us have one of the rooms so we just put his play yard in there and he took some great naps and slept pretty good. We were afraid he was going to be totally spoiled when we got home since we would give him bottles at night when he woke up so he wouldn't scream and wake everyone else up. But I have to say he did pretty good last night-- we were very happy! But he was absolutely spoiled with attention and love by everyone there--he loved being the center of it all. And everyone was so sweet to watch him while Brian and I relaxed a little bit. Adele watched him while we went out on the boat and Mois and Pa kept him while we played a little tennis tournament at some tennis courts we found in Marble Falls. And Cindy put Boone to sleep numerous times for naps and such and he even got to hear his aunt Leslie sing to him--he thought she was pretty hilarious. Everyone loved all over Boone and he was just in heaven-- thank you all for spoiling our little man in the best way possible. He is so lucky to have such great people in his life! I think we all had a pretty good time just goofing off and relaxing. We played water volleyball (so much fun!), floated in the river, played washers and laddergolf and Dustin even entertained us with the guitar. Needless to say we were all exhausted yesterday when we got home. It was nice to put Boone to sleep in his own bed and get to take a cat nap on the couch. Yesterday evening I attended a funeral service for a friend's husband. I'm sharing this because his brother said something to me that really stuck and I just thought it would be nice to pass along. He said that when someone has passed and we look at the span of their life we see a tiny dash between two numbers-- when you were born and when you died. And he spoke about how our whole life is summed up by this small space. He challenged us all to go home and first hug our loved ones and make peace with those we love and to then look in the mirror and reevaluate our lives and what is really important to us. Then to go out and live your life so that when you pass your dash is as big as you want it to be and to know that your legacy and life is bigger than just this small space. I know some may think this is silly but for me it really hit home. I think we all take our lives for granted thinking there is nothing to worry about but remember that nothing is permanent and nothing is promised. Each new day is a gift and a blessing and we must live so that we will never regret our time here because there are no second chances. I hope you all know how much we love you and how grateful we are to have you in our life. May God watch over you and guide you. Have a great week!

Summer Fun!
Well we had a HUGE week this week and that's part of the reason I am just getting to post everything now. I tried to get it done yesterday but by the time we got Boone to bed I headed that way too....I am exhausted! So we will start with last Tuesday. Boone goes to Mother's Day Out on Tues. and Thurs. and he is now getting moved up to the next room at his school. It is the 6 mth to a year class and it is night and day from where he came from. I was overwhelmed when I went in...there are babies crawling, pulling up, walking, playing and there are toys everywhere. Needless to say I think Boone is really going to like it and it will definitely help him with all of the next milestones like crawling and pulling up since he gets to see it around him all the time. I think Boone was worn out after being in there but I really think it's a great place for him and the teachers are awesome so we are really happy about everything going on there. Then on Wed. we went over to swim with some friends and their kids. I had both of their sons in my class this last year (they are really sweet boys and super funny) and then Natalie also has a little girl who is so beautiful and she was so sweet with Boone. She would just laugh at him and he would smile at her.... I think he likes the older ladies! :) We had a great time swimming and Boone loved it. I was able to sit and splash with him and we got to stay in the shade! Yay --no sunburns!! We came home and napped and repacked and went over to Allison's house for a playdate with Anna and Reid. It is always so much fun getting them together because they are always changing and doing new things. Plus I love just getting to sit and hang out with Dana and Allison --- we have a lot of fun together. Then after we left there we got to come home to see Grandma Lou and our cousin Josh. They drove down from Mississippi to help keep Boone while Brian and I went to Ft.Worth (see the next post). Pops came in on Friday and we all had the best time hanging out. Josh was amazing with Boone--I think Boone thought he was a little Brian. He fed him and put him to bed. I think we might have to hire Josh more often! Boone loved seeing Lou and Pops and I guess he was trying to show off because by the time they left on Sun. Boone was almost saying da da (he really has the d and g sound down) and he had started to get up on his knees and scoot around a little. I know the crawling will come soon which is super scary! We had a very busy but very fun week and we hope you all had a great one too! We also wanted to say Happy Birthday to Nancy! We love you so much and hope you had a great birthday yesterday. Hopefully you got to buy some neat stuff for your birthday in Lubbock. Have a great week ahead and we Love you all!
